Fluidity, a less understood philosophy behind vagabonding necesitates that one make one’s own decisions, but also to follow the diversions that life places in front of you. Strict scheduling becomes difficult, but life is far more enriching.
We move on to Newark, OH and the destination of our roadtrip, the estate of the Flying Scottsman. He’s a fellow thru-hiker I hiked with through Virginia. When we pulled up, he met us halfway down his walk, a box of beer in hand, screaming “What’s up, B******?!” We were in for a good night. We all sat down in his den and caught up for a while. Then we loaded up, and hit the pond for some burgers and beer with his family. We ended up hanging out the entire next day, avoiding the rain outside, and chilling. This morning, after checking my messages, we got pizza for breakfast and left for Cincinatti not long there after.
During the miles from Newark to Cinci, Me and Wolfpack waited and watched, expecting to see a tornado land in the field next to us. The clouds were crazy that day.
After following the many backroads to Cody’s house. The first thing he did when we got to his house was offer me a shot; Cody is employeed as a bartender. We played some Modern warfare to kill time, then hit up Zen & Now Coffee Shop. It was just down the road from Cody’s house. It’s a cozy little shop on the south side of Cinci. After collecting Cody’s truck from the service station, we went to the Steak and Lube for wing night. Under the terms of a bet with Cody, Wolfpack earned a free meal for consuming a batch of atomic wings, rated at 150,000 on the Scoville Scale. Cody then consumed the triple atomic(500k Scoville Units), also for losing the bet.
Which reminds me of a video we made of me consuming 2 Habenero Peppers(350k SU each) at once for a dollar:
He finished them, sweating and drinking lots of water. On the way out of Cinci, we found some goetta at Cody’s reccomendation. Back in Berea, ready to ride!
If you have enjoyed reading my blog during my ride across the country, please consider donating to my savings so that I may create another blog during my hike from Canada to Mexico in 2011.

How was the Goetta?
Delicious. My go-to for sausage now.
Hey buddy, thanks for stopping at our farm. You’ll have to come back and stay longer when you have the time. You mentioned we had pizza for breakfast. But not that we had pancakes and eggs for dinner. Stay in touch and we’ll be watching your progress.
Later,
Flying Scotsman
Hahaha… I completely forgot.
